Senior DevOps Engineer

We are currently working with a revolutionary start-up, who are building out their MVP. They are preparing to go to market in the coming months, something in which you could play a pivotal part in. They are looking to hire someone into this blended role. The role may be slightly ambiguous on paper, but rest assured this a highly influential software engineer with a DevOps Bias (or DevOps engineer) to work on first release of their mobile application and products. This role reports directly to the CEO, therefore there is a lot of autonomy.

Responsibilities:

Here is a list of some of the most relevant areas of work:

  • Develop a roadmap of product features and timelines working alongside the product design team.
  • Assess the long term software development needs against the current software stack/architecture and engineering resources and redefine priorities.
  • Responsible for the day to day maintenance of the Github repository
  • Continue to develop and enhance the code base
  • Work closely with Device firmware/hardware engineers to ensure smooth integration between App and native firmware.
  • Work with the finance and operations departments to integrate core product usage information into the company’s systems (i.e. fulfilment, accounting).
  • Coordinate the smooth integration of FrontEnd and Backend code.
  • Implement best practices DevOps (i.e CI/CD system)
  • Implement backup contingency plans to ensure high reliability/availability.
  • Ensure full comprehensive documentation
  • Oversight or testing and QA
  • Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL
  • Flutter/Firebase knowledge is not a requirement but a plus.
  • MongoDB familiarity is not a requirement but a plus.
  • Interest in AI/ML, Machine Vision
  • Interest in IoT applications / BLE / Bluetooth protocols / microcontrollers
  • Salary: up to £85,000
